LinkedIn is the world's largest social media network targeted for professionals. With over 300 million users and growing, that is where you want to be to manage your professional reputation. Other than your work experience and education, the below three elements are critical to magnify your professional visibility online.
Your Headline. This is a short piece of text which displays immediately below your name. Front-Load your headline with relevant industry keywords and search terms.
Your Photo and Background Image. Select a photo that’s a professional-looking picture, with your face taking up ~60% of the photo (no long-distance shots). Your background image should be sized to 1584px x 396px. LinkedIn isn't the place to show off your dog or significant other.
Your Profile Summary. This is your opportunity to talk about yourself, the way you want others to see you. Turn the profile summary into your story and avoid buzz words like ‘expert,’ ‘passionate’, ‘focused’, ‘experienced’ when writing your headline and summary.
